Story Competition

RULES

Please read the following rules before submitting your entry.

General

All stories can be on any subject and written in any style or form. We recommend good humor as that could increase selection chances.

After submission, only shortlisted entries will be published for readers comment and sharing.

The deadline date for entries is 12:00 GMT 30th June.

Submit your entry by sending an email with your story attached (in word format) to posts@akposjokes.com with the subject STORY COMPETITION.

Eligibility

You must have a valid akposjokes account. If you don't have one click here now. Your entries will be published under this account.

Story entry must be original. This means any story you submit must be written by you.

Your story should not promote religious/tribal incitement.

Grammatical errors may affect your entry.

Stories should be written in English (but conversations between characters will be exempted from grammatical screening).

Stories may be on any theme but should not have been previously published, self-published, published on any website, blog or online forum.

Simultaneous entries are allowed but only one entry per user will be considered for the prize.

All entries must have only one part and should have at least 1500 words.

Entries submitted after closing date will not be considered for the competition but may be posted with the author's consent.

Our editors reserve the right to edit your stories and titles however they deem fit.

Prizes

Akpos Jokes will award the following prizes:

1st Prize NGN 10,000, 2nd Prize NGN 6,000, 3rd Prize NGN 4,000.

Top 5 authors stand a chance of working as freelance writers for Akpos Jokes with a monthly stipend.

Judging

Judges' decision is final and no individual correspondence can be entered into.

Judges reserve the right to disqualify any story at any.

Judges may consider readers comment and acceptance for shortlisted entries.

Terms

Stories with any form of plagiarism are subject to disqualification.

Breaking any of the rules will result in disqualification.

Akpos Jokes reserves the right to publish submitted stories via any of its channels or partners both online and offline.
